Nominations for the 2018 British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (BEDSAs), to be held on 24 March 2018, are now open. The BEDSAs ceremony, organised by Sporting Equals, celebrates and rewards sporting achievements amongst Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) women and men. 

Once again we are sponsoring the Connecting Communities Award, which recognises an organisation/individual/project that has had a significant impact on bringing communities together through sport or physical activity at a local level in England.

Spirit of 2012’s Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) has extended its support for the Verbal Arts Centre in Northern Ireland to fund Reading Rooms: Beyond the Walls, a literacy project for young ex-offenders. Verbal Arts Centre runs Reading Rooms across Northern Ireland.

The Spirit of 2012 Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) today launches a new Challenge Fund, calling for applications from organisations working to tackle mental health issues among young people in Wales and north-east England.

“As Chair of the Spirit of 2012 Youth Advisory Panel, I am super excited to announce the new YAP Challenge Fund,” said Michaela Collins. “This is a unique funding opportunity opened up to organisations that help tackle the stigma of mental health in children and young people through the arts.”
